I am sure most of you will have been keeping upto date with my progress on Facebook but incase you haven’t here are some uptodate pictures of my Oil Horse Portrait. Constructive feedback is welcome, I am seriousely considering offering Oils on my website now!

Layer

So here is my first solo animal attempt, I thought I would go for a horse as I have been inspired by the incredible ‘Whistlejacket’ in the past (you Arty/Horsey folk will know what that is).

Oh and for the record he has only had a very few layers which I am waiting to dry,  still a long way to go!

I have an ‘office’ desk where I sit at my computer to do all my admin and my Portrait bench which currently has Anya sitting on it waiting to be framed.

I have a fantastic new daylight lamp with is going to enable me to work longer in the evening (normal house lights make everything very orange) and an all important ‘Simon’s Cat’ Calendar to keep track of the date!

Over the weekend I am going to set up my packing and posting corner where I have invested in some sturdy planks of wood and a saw to ensure all Portraits stay flat and protected in the post with cut to size packaging.

My easel is currently looking at me longingly to start some Oils and I have a Cat to draw for the Society of Feline Artists. On top of all this my website is currently under going a revamp on the Cat, Dog and Horse pages and I will be adding a whole lot more information about my Portraits in one big update.

I hope you have all had a fabulous New Year and everyone who ordered a Portrait from me in 2011 will be back for 2012, don’t forget Valentines day!

Another exciting update to announce is that I have finially gained a room at home specially for my Portraits (no more working in the study)! I will be decorating and creating a proper studio in the next week horay! I will keep you updated with my progres and pictures and I will be much happier inviting people around to collect Portraits with all my Artwork on the walls. I am thinking about adding a comfy sofa/chair as well?
